Terms and conditions

The service

GM Steps provides online chess coaching for children and adults, in small groups or one to one.

A subscription is monthly and covers 8 lessons a month — two a week, one hour each.

The first lesson is a free trial, so the student's level is known before anybody subscribes.

Prices

Prices shown on the site are per student, per month, and differ by country.

Prices shown in a currency other than the Egyptian pound or the Saudi riyal are converted at the exchange rate available at the time, and the final price is confirmed with the academy when the subscription is agreed.

The academy may change its prices; a change never applies to a month already paid for.

Booking and lesson times

Lesson times are agreed between the parent and the academy after the subscription is confirmed.

If a student cannot attend, please tell the academy beforehand so another time can be arranged. Replacement lessons depend on the coach's availability.

If the academy cancels a lesson for any reason, it is replaced or added back to the subscription.

Conduct

We ask students to keep to lesson times and to treat the coach and the other students with respect.

The academy may end a subscription in cases of repeated abuse, refunding the lessons not yet taken.

Content

Lesson content, exercises and teaching materials belong to the academy and are for the student's own use.

Lessons may not be recorded, and their materials may not be republished, without written permission.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page; the date at the top is when it last changed. Continuing a subscription after an update means accepting the updated version.
